The world just cant get enough of MGS 4, and Konami is making sure that they keep the gamers happy. Last time they released an MGS encyclopedia, this time they are releasing a few new camo patterns. The Camo Patterns are called Raging Camo and Lauhging Camo. Eorogamer states that:
The new ones are Laughing Camo and Raging Camo, both of which were quietly released last Thursday. Enemies will apparently laugh or rage more when they see you wearing them.
Both patterns can be accessed by going to the Extras menu from the title screen and navigating to the OctoCamo page. Both are 153KB downloads and join the Digital Red and Digital Blue camo patterns added in mid-June.
In case you haven’t checked the Extras menu recently, it’s already home to a pair of downloadable songs for use on your in-game iPod. Click here for the full story.

David Hayter is a really lucky man, he has a good career as a screen writer and has voiced one of the most legendary gaming characters of all time aka Solid Snake. Recently at an event gamers interacted with David Hayter, who told them that he was a little disappointed with the MGS 4 climax. The following is his official quote:
“I didn’t agree with that [Snake flinching at pulling the trigger on himself] at all, and I begged them to change it, but I think it’s still in the final game… I didn’t buy it at all. I think it’s weak for Snake to be killing other people and then not be able to kill himself when it’s time. If he knows it’s time, then it’s time.”
Well he may not agree with the end…but I know millions of Solid Snake fans who were…your opinion.
MGS 4 is selling like hot cakes, selling more than 1.3 million units on the first day. The game is the last chapter in the Solid Snake Saga, but if rumors are to be believed the next MGS will be a prequel probably about Big Boss.

Speaking in an interview with 1UP a week before the game’s release, MGS4 assistant producer Ryan Payton said there is “still a lot of room for filling in the gaps as far as Big Boss is concerned.” When asked about the possibility of a Metal Gear Solid 5, Payton responded, “There are some misunderstandings that this is the final Metal Gear game. But it’s really the final chapter of the Solid Snake story. That’s all.”
I personally am really excited as MGS 3 was a really good title and a new adventure featuring the Big Boss makes sense. The Big Boss is an iconic character in MGS and deserves a next-gen title.

MGS 4 is an epic game, a game that many gamers have waited years for MGS 4. The game is finally out and is getting rave reviews from every publisher. This isn’t a surprise as all MGS games are made to perfection. Sony is banking heavily on the game, to sell both Hardware and Software. listed below are two review with a brief overview:
Game Informer:
This series has always showcased amazing depth, but MGS 4 accommodates a breed of player choice unlike anything I have ever seen, providing you with the tools to overcome obstacles in any way you choose. Many titles may claim to have this feature, but its implementation in MGS 4 is truly remarkable. There is no longer just “stealth” or “not stealth” – you devise your own solutions. How do you bypass the Gecko blocking your path? How do you keep a never-ending flood of Frogs (members of Liquid’s private army) at bay? The answers may seem obvious at the time, but when your friends tell you how they approached the situations differently, you realize the scope of the freedom the game provides.
IGN.com:
If you’ve ever loved any one of the Metal Gear games, or any moments from the series, there will come a moment when MGS 4 will send your spirits soaring. If you’ve loved them all, well then there’ll be many, many more. It’s a masterpiece. But forget you read that. Go play it and find out for yourself. Because it’s the kind of game that, if you play it after being told it’s a masterpiece, might end up disappointing you because of the hype. So forget the hype. Forget that it’s a magnificent, ground-breaking, masterpiece. Just play it, and enjoy a dazzling, heart-lifting, voyage of discovery.
What makes the MGS series unique is that the games belong to a very different genre. Technically MGS started the Stealth genre and got gamers hooked on to hiding in the dark, sneaking around without killing the enemy. The game does not and cannot sell as much as a GTA 4 or even a Halo 3, and there are reasons for the same. GTA is a game that sells more due to the nature of gameplay which includes strip clubs, random killing and all the vices man can conjur, a game like MGS has a very niche following and it is accepted by a smaller number of gamers.
MGS 4 is the last title to feature Solid Snake, and he is going out with a bang. An iconic character in the world of gaming Solid Snake will surely be missed, but given Hideo Kojima’s habit to surprise, we can expect some new uber cool character to jump the MGS band Wagon.

Hideo Kojima is a very respected man, his MGS series has come a long way with MGS 4, the most anticipated game for millions across the globe. according to a news report on Eurogamer, Hideo wants to move on to other things:
“So I have to say, ‘Die, Snake,’ and really end it so I can move on to something else! Actually, it’s a game, so even if Snake dies, the game can live on. We have to kill him at a certain point.”
There is always the possibility that the series may be expanded onto the PSP as well. Kojima has a son who hates the console versions of Metal Gear Solid, but loved Portable Ops, and the opportunity to target this “very important and new” 13 to 15 year-old market is something Kojima is excited about.
However, he admitted he was getting to the stage where he had been trying to “pass the baton” to the younger members of his team, although being a stickler for perfection in all areas made it difficult to let go of.
no matter what happens to the series, one thing’s certain that MGS is a legendary and will remain popular for years to come.
