Recently Actvision boss Bobby Kotick said that their game Guitar Hero is dominating EA’s Rock Band.
“We’re outselling [Rock Band] 6:1. When you think about the access we have to 30% of the world’s music at Universal, we have a unique advantage there.
I would also say when you look at resources, you know, our next-nearest competitor has a couple of hundred people working on these projects, we have close to 2000 people just dedicated to the Guitar Hero note tracking, introduction of new hardware, introduction of new software, and so we just have a lot more in the way of resources available to us to continue to dominate the category.”
Finally its official that Guitar Hero is much better than Rock Band. Recently Activision had revealed the complete list of songs for Guitar Hero world tour do check it out. I would like to know what do you game and music lovers think about this.

I would love to know your feedback regarding the above list. Just to let you know there are rumors about a movie based on Guitar Hero.

After Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and Metallica we now have more interesting news. Movie Maker Brett Ratner known for “God of War” recently said that he would love to make a movie on Guitar Hero. But the “X-Men” and “Rush Hour” director doesn’t think Activision would want him to.
Brett Ratner said
“I love ‘Guitar Hero’ and I think it’s a part of pop culture. I would love to do a ‘Guitar Hero’ movie, if Activision would ever let me. I’m trying to convince them, but why would you have a movie screw up such a huge franchise? Not that I would make a bad movie. So that would be cool, to do a ‘Guitar Hero’ movie.”
This is his idea for the plot:
“It could be about a kid from a small town who dreams of being a rock star and he wins the ‘Guitar Hero’ competition. One of these dreams-[come-true] kind of concepts.”
What do you guys think about the plot?

Hot on the heels of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith comes another Guitar Hero title, this time featuring Metallica. Scheduled for release in 2009, the details were uncovered in an SEC filing made by Activision.
While this bodes well for the series commercially, one can’t help but feel that this series is being milked to proportions that would make EA’s usual treatment of their franchises seem normal (NFS: ProStreet anyone?).
“In fiscal 2009, we plan to publish Guitar Hero: On Tour for the NDS; Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, Guitar Hero: Metallica, and Guitar Hero IV across multiple platforms,” the company said in the filing.
The charm of the Guitar Hero series was to play songs from bands you never even heard of rather than bask in the already popular tracks from well-known acts.
According to our sources (the voices in our head) Activision plan to release Guitar Hero: Madonna and Guitar Hero: Britney Spears as soon as possible.

True story, Aerosmith will the best band to get their own Guitar Hero game, the game which will be called Aerosmith: Guitar Hero (Surprise !!!). The game will follow the band’s career from their first gig to super-stardom. All the playable songs will be from Aerosmith’s classics and more songs will be available via PSN and Xbox 360. Gamespot quotes: Real-life Aerosmith guitar legend Joe Perry commented, “It’s great for rock since the record companies are struggling to make sense of how things are changing. Fans want to get and experience music in new formats–and there are going to be some of them who will play the game, then pick up the guitar for real and start bands.”
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock owners will be able to download the Aerosmith track “Dream On” for the game for free to celebrate the upcoming game’s release. It will be available for free on both Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network between February 16 and 18. This is one game that is worth going “Crazy” over.
