Jack Thompson, infamous for being an anti-gamer was visited by the Feds because he was considered a threat to the public. The defense attorney felt he wasn’t getting attention for his bizzare cases. He made a statement saying if he killed 3000 people, he would probably be noticed. This crazy statement of his was considered a threat and he got a visit from the cops. ”We find yesterday that enemy combatants at Guantanamo are to get more due process from federal judges than what I am to have.
I guess my “mistake” was not killing 3000 people to make my point…” These are the exact words he used in his letter. After the visit from the cops, Thompson was somehow compelled to right another long sarcastic letter to the judge asking why he deserved such harassment.
Jack Thompson gets pwned……
Youtube: Funny Game Videos
Hey guys, today I won talk about any new game, today I am listing down some of the funniest game videos on youtube. These are videos that are inspired by some of the most popular games ever, World of Warcraft, Tetris and so on, check them out and ROFL. These are some of the funniest videos on gaming…..must watch, and do not miss the last one.
Burning games will lead to reduction of crime, say’s Rev. Richard Patrick
You know the situation, when something so stupid happens, you don’t know if you should laugh or frown. The following story will put you in a similar dilemma. Rev. Richard Patrick believes that all games are behind crimes and making criminals outof the youth, and that they should be burned.
I can imagine him standing over a heap of video games, shouting out to the dvds below,” Burn in hell, you spawn of Satan”. You know why don’t we read his own words:
We are considering having something similar to a rally where parents and children can bring CDs and video games that they consider are destructive to the mind set of our youth and have a burning, just like they had a gun buyback last year…
Young people are being influenced by what they see and what they hear. They are being influenced by television … television and videos are telling young people a vision but something that’s not reality…
[Violent media] has a tremendous influence on young people and violence. That’s basically all they see. Most of them try to emulate what they see, when in reality, the people they see don’t even live in those communities. Some of the rappers they see on TV portraying crime don’t live in the urban areas — they live in the suburbs somewhere. It’s all a facade.
I will not defend our community nor will I debate over the influence of games on young minds. My question is that were people not killing each other in the early sixties, were young people not turning to drugs before. Video games present an alternate reality, where anything is possible, but its up to you, you can take it positively or go stealing cars because Niko Bellic does it. Debates aside, this will be one expensive camp fire.
The Way It’s Meant To Be Traced: Nvidia buy ray-tracing firm

Nvidia and Intel have been at the crux of a graphics war for quite awhile now and it is seeming to heat up even further. The guys in green have announced their purchase of ray-tracing firm, Rayscale.
This acquisition may help Nvidia develop new ways to draw 3D images. The currently used method, rasterization is getting more and more complicated to process while ray-tracing, a method championed by Intel is yet to be attractive enough to be used by developers. Ray-tracing is thought to be too CPU-itensive to be used, though Intel claim that modern day processors have enough power to make it happen (Nvidia heavily dispute this).
According to VentureBeat:
As its name implies, it involves shooting a ray from a single point in a 3-D scene. If the ray hits an object, it assumes that whatever is behind the object is obscured and therefore doesn’t have to be drawn. Ray-tracing is better suited for the CPU (Nvidia disputes this) and so Intel is naturally a big proponent of it. The technique used to take too much horsepower, but now Intel contends that modern CPUs have the oomph to do it. Intel has shown Quake IV running on an eight-core CPU using ray-tracing techniques.
Rasterization, meanwhile, is getting more complicated. The graphics processor, such as those made by Nvidia, makes a “pass” at drawing a scene by rasterizing, or layering image effect such as colors, shadows, and lighting upon a scene. It does this repeatedly until the 3-D scene looks just right.
For the end consumer, this definitely means a better picture and hopefully at a better price.
Gamers want more mature games*read, want more nudity*

They say that sex sells and how very true, bad movies with a bit of skin make millions, sex tapes make internet celebrities, I can go on and on. Guys at loot-ninja.com are trying to make a point, they believe gamers need to see more skin, in games:
I think there should be more Mature games and someone should try to release or market an Adults only game. I am not talking about porn on your Xbox 360, although that could lead to some interesting achievements! Have a threesome get 50 gamerpoints, go ATM get 100 gamer points! A game like Leisure Suit Larry could push the envelope and provide some seriously funny and interesting gameplay, but I can guarantee that it will be gimped out due to the fact that no one wants to rock the boat. I have great fears that the next Leisure Suit Larry will be reduced to a bunch of shitty mini-games and the only thing you will get ot see is a pixelated boob and perhaps a thong. I think a developer needs to go big and just get full frontal out there on a console, show bush or go home.
I think there should be a mainstream AO game introduced into the market. It would catch so much heat from the conservative soccer moms, but would sell like hotcakes. The average gamer is not a kid anymore, it is an adult typically in their 20’s kicking back with some beers and playing some games. Who wouldn’t want to have an AO game to enjoy, as long as it is done well and doesn’t suck a nut like Night Trap. There would be outrage at first, the same as there was when GTA first hit the scene, but people would grow to accept it and all the publicity from the TV and news would quickly sky rocket it to new heights.
They have a point, if you consider that mature games will feel more practical, as for the skin show thats an added bonus, although I doubt that pixalated female assets would get my blood rushing.
