EA Reveals Star Cast Of Command And Conquer Red Alert 3

Command And Conquer Red Alert 3

Command and Conquer is one of those games which have always kept me busy. The Command & Conquer series was initially developed by Westwood Studios between 1995 and 2003, with development being taken over by Electronic Arts with the liquidation of Westwood Studios in 2003. Since then it has been a delight for the game lovers.

Since the New Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 has been in news for some time now. We are now presenting you the star cast for the same. The star cast also includes a former playmate, guess who is she?

Gemma Atkinson (the UK’s Hollyoaks), Tim Curry (Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Hunt for Red October), Andrew Divoff (LOST), Kelly Hu (X2, The Scorpion King), Jenny McCarthy (Scream 3, former Playboy Playmate of the Year), Ivana Milicevic (Casino Royale), Jonathan Pryce (Pirates of the Caribbean), J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man,Juno), Autumn Reeser (The OC), Peter Stormare (Prison Break, Armageddon), George Takei (Star Trek, Heroes), and two of the most recognizable names in competitive mixed martial arts Randy “The Natural” Couture (former UFC Heavyweight champion) and Gina “Conviction”Carano (Undefeated Elite XC fighter, American Gladiators).

Jenny McCarthy

The former playmate Jenny McCarthy said

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I came in to work on a video game, while playing Tanya, Allied commando and the most beloved heroine in the history of the Command & Conquer universe. What I realized is Red Alert 3 is not just a video game, its absolutely an interactive movie. This is where the people at home get to move the story forward, and where seeing the plot thicken is a reward for a job well done. And thats really cool.

I am eagerly awaiting the release as I wish to see the former playmate Ms McCarthy kick some ass. I hope my statement does not make Jim Carrey mad.

Street Fighter IV Will Launch Along With The Movie, Says Producer

Street Fighter 4

Recently GameDaily interviewed Patrick Aiello and the producer of the upcoming film, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. They also confirmed the news that Street Fighter IV will release along with the movie.

Here is a small excerpt from the interview

Capcom is releasing Street Fighter IV in 2009, which is the 20th anniversary of the game. The film and game release dates will coincide, but I’m not certain how much of the game will coincide with the story because ours is a very partitioned off origin story of the Street Fighter universe. So the release dates will coincide, elements between the two will coincide, but in terms of them relating to each other perfectly, I don’t believe that’s the case.

Sony- New 160 GB PS3-New PSP- Wireless Controller and Heavy Rain…Fantastic

I am all out of words, Sony has gone all guns blazing with some awesome announcements at the Games Convention 2008, Germany. Sony has always had big plans for its PS3 and its showing them off now, here is a brief from the Playstation blog, visit the blog for full coverage….

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune PS3 Bundle with 160GB PS3 System

The 160GB PS3 system announced at the GC will be available here as part of a new limited-edition bundle that includes the hardware, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune game, a PLAYSTATION Network voucher for PAIN, and a DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller. We’re hearing from a lot of you that more PS3 storage space is important, particularly since the launch of our video delivery service, and this new model delivers more memory and a whole lot of content packed-in….

New PSP Entertainment Packs with updated PSP (PSP-3000)

We also unveiled at Leipzig an updated PSP system (PSP-3000), which we’ll be offering here initially through the previously announced Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters PSP Entertainment Pack and a new PSP 4GB Memory Entertainment Pack. I’m personally excited about the 4GB Memory bundle because we’re including a - you guessed it - 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo, which is the biggest Memory Stick we’ve ever bundled with a PSP.

PS3 Wireless Keypad

Lastly, we’ve announced a new Wireless Keypad for PS3 that will make text communications and Web browsing much easier. The Wireless Keypad snaps onto the top of a SIXAXIS or DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller and comes with some cool features, including a mode that turns the main key area into a touch pad (similar to a touch pad on a Laptop computer). Once in this mode, you can slide your finger on this area to move the cursor on the screen and tap to enter.

Merc’s 2…bigger and better

The Original Mercenaries was quite successful and popular, the sequel has all the ingredients of being a bigger success. This one will feature Online Co-Op and will be available on most platforms including PS2. Read more below…

The game features three confirmed playable characters, all from the original game: Jennifer Mui, Mattias Nilsson, and Chris Jacobs.

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is set in August 2010. The story follows the player’s hunt for Ramon Solano, a druglord who contracted the player’s mercenary for a job then subsequently refused to pay and tried to kill him/her. Following a militaristic coup, Solano becomes the dictator of Venezuela. He uses his position to seize control of the country’s oil supply, resulting in an international incident and distress among OPEC. Alongside Solano’s Rebel Forces, a large portion of the Venezuelan army fiercely support the dictator’s cause. The other rebel forces, in opposition to Solano, have risen under the name of the PLAV–the People’s Liberation Army of Venezuela. Soon, numerous other factions join the fight for control of Venezuela’s oil.

Among them: The massive Universal Petroleum Corporation and its private military; the Rastafarian Pirates (the equivalent of the Russian Mafia from the original Mercenaries game); China’s PLA; and the AN (Allied Nations–a less controversial pun on the UN). These six forces will inevitably form the backbone of a war to determine the fate of the country’s oil supply.

Betrayed, the player’s mercenary will ally him/herself with any of the other factions to get even with Solano, and make some money along the way. Source.

PES 2009 info leaked

Football season started with some excellent matches and to add to the great run, a ton of new info about PES 2009 was just leaked. The interview below will give some very interesting facts about the game, and did someone mention Manchester United ….

After waiting a while for any sort of news, we have an avalanche of info all at once! Thanks to Lami, Hunter from PESGaming and most importantly Sparky from the Pro Evo League Live UK website. They posted an in-depth interview with a member of the industry who had the chance to playtest PES 2009.

Here the full interview posted by PELLUK:

With regards to the gameplay, would you say it resembled PES6 or PES2008, and what aspects differ. The gameplay is PES2008, the way it should have been. You can no longer run straight through everyone with Etoo or Ronaldinho without any effort but you can beat players by running if you time your moves correctly. It is very realistic and the AI in defense and attack is massively improved. The refereeing in PES2008 was abysmal, has it got any better? (please elaborate with examples i.e bringing play back etc)

The refereeing is probably the same although the collisions are much better so the decisions are often correct. The diving works better too. Managed to win a pen with an expertly timed dive over a defenders outstretched leg - looked class.

GTA: Mumbai….Why I think Rockstar’s next should be based in India?

Everybody loves GTA, the franchise has sold more copies than the Beatles and Bon Jovi combined (Love’em both BTW). There is a reason for GTA’s unparralled success and as most GTA veterans will tell you, the reason is the complete freedom to do whatever you feel like. You see a decent man will never go out, punch a cop, hotwire a pizza delivery truck or get a lapdance while he tells his wife how hard his boss is making him work on the phone.

But while playing GTA one can do all that, especially now in pure 720p HD goodness, smoother textures and more visually appealing strippers. So that’s the success story behind GTA. Now if you are bored as I am on most days. you begin to wonder that would we ever see GTA episode in India. I know, its absolutely absurd, but just think about it.

We all know that the “West” or as I like to call it Heaven-on-earth-due-to-Las-Vegas-Superbowl-and-breast-implants is fascinated by India, in fact they are more Indian than most of us in most resects. They know more about Yoga and Kamasutra than most of us, yet both those things are a part of our “culture”. Back to the point, recently Rockstar announced China Town Wars for the Nintendo DS, exciting news and a clear indication that Rockstar is leaning towards the largest population in the World. See its simple:

A) People are addicted to GTA

B)GTA fans will play GTA no matter which race the protagonist belongs to or which part of the World the game is based

C) With a global audience addicted to GTA, Rockstar can develop GTA: Igloo Mafia and people will play it, and calling it Igloo wars will lead to more appeal in Canada and Greenland.

so A+B+C= make one GTA based in Mumbai, cos if there is one city that has the right ingredients for a GTA game, its Mumbai. We have corrupt cops, loads of vehicles, chaos, enough ramps to perform those popular slow-motion stunts, a well connected railway channel, and rickshaws (beat that Vice City), I say Rockstar take notice. I strongly believe in the idea, I think GTA: Mumbai will be a big hit and sell more than any other GTA ever. What do you guys say? BTW check out the video below, I put that to prove my point.

Pirates Of Caribbean MMORPG Goes Free!

Pirates Of The Caribbean MMORPG

Yay! Yay! Make way. Here comes Captain Jack Sparrow. Yep you heard that right. Disney is in a mood of spoiling you. I guess it is time for us to leave behind our daily chores and try a hand in piracy but of course not movie piracy.

In order to increase the fan following of Pirates of Caribbean  MMORPG, Disney is opening the paid-for bits this weekend. Since basic access to PotC has always been free, with some abilities and equipment reserved for the fee-paying unlimited members. This weekend (August 15 — 18) all Basic members will get an upgrade to Unlimited and be able to form guilds, stock up on weapons and skills, and generally get their buccaneering on. Unlimited class members wont lose out either, with up to 50% discounts in the in game stores.

It seems that I have got a game for the weekend which is gonna make my lazy butt a bit more lazy.

In case you are unaware about the game then please have a look at the video.

A New Lara Croft?

A new Lara Croft is in town and her name is Alison Carroll. She is now a part of a urban legacy of Lara Croft Models. “[Lara Croft] has everything a man would want from a woman and everything a woman would aspire to be like.”Bizarrely, Carroll has to undergo archaeology and weapons training before meeting and greeting the hordes of Lara Croft fans.

That hasn’t stopped her posing for a few pictures, which you can find in our new Lara Croft model gallery. We’re not ashamed. Carroll will no doubt help create buzz around upcoming game Tomb Raider: Underworld, in exactly the same way previous model Karima Adebe did before Tomb Raider: Legend two years ago.

Litle Big Planet could be a system seller…..

I firmly believe that Little Big Plan is worth buying a PS3, even if you are a die-hard Xbox 360 fanboy. LBP is by far the most innovative produvt that I have come across in a long time. The game is due for release in a few months and Sony belives that people will buy a PS3 just to experince LBP. Read on…

“Our target audience is everyone,” explained associate producer Eric Fong, speaking to GamesIndustry.biz last month at Comic-Con 2008 in San Diego, where the game was being demonstrated to the public.

“It’s got enough complexity that people can play it and enjoy it for many hours; at the same time, if you’re just a casual user you can run through and play the game and have fun with it. Everything you see in the developer levels, you can create as the player.” Talking up the game’s sales potential, he added: “It’s going to be a hardware seller. Not only do you have the platforming experience that a lot of other games will have, you have this creativity that really is exclusive to LittleBigPlanet.” But some believe Sony’s real challenge is in communicating the game’s unique features to consumers, a point which Fong conceded.

”How do you explain the game…without getting your hands on it? It’s a difficult thing to do.” Therefore events like Comic-Con and Germany’s Games Convention, which takes place later this month, have become a crucial part of Sony’s aggressive consumer awareness campaign.
